This Kwere fertility doll is carved from wood with a good age patina and inlaid red bead eyes.  Unlike most pieces on finds these days, this is a genuine "used" piece and not a tourist carving.   Proof of this is the quality of the carving (see the hairdo for example) and the beautiful wear and patina on the body.
