This is a very nice and old 11 luk (wave) keris Pusaka from Surakarta, Central Jawa. Surakarta (nowadays also known as Solo) is situated in the central of Java and is one the most important city for the keris, with the keraton and big history of keris.The dapur (shape) of the keris isSabok Inten. A Keris Sabok Inten with this high age is very rarely found Special about this keris is the very nice and good visable pamor in combination with the rare dapor and high age. As you can see this keris has still a very nice pamor on the blade (see detailed pictures). I'm not a pamor expert, but you don't have to be an expert to see that this is a very beautiful pamor. This keris is very old, probably made 17th century. The wooden handle is "Nunggak Semi" and and typical from Surakarta. According to me the handle is less old then the keris itself, but this is quite common as the wood is less strong then the keris itself. As you can see the handle is matching well with the scabbard and keris. The shape of the wooden warangka (scabbard) is called Ladrang (shape of a shipp) from Surakarta and the keris is fitting perfect in the scabbard as you can see on the pictures. This indicates that the scabbard is specially made for this Keris. The wood is very nice (see the detailed pictures). This nice wooden scabbard is covered with a Pendok bunton (close pendok). The kerisblade is +/- 33 cm and the total length of the keris in the scabbard is 50,5 cm.
