Description
A beautful wooden cane with a 4.5" long ivory handle, 32.75" long. engraved on a silver band "John Wilkes Booth from Laura Keen(e) sic 1865. Laura Keene was the protagonist in Our American Cousin, the play Lincoln was watching when he was killed the night of April 14, 1865. From the collection of the Boothbay Theatre Museum, whose collection sold at R. W. Oliver's auction in June of 1990. The lot had an estimate of $5000-$10,000.
