Description
A fine old Northwest Coast Kwakiutl Indian hand carved and painted yellow cedar totem pole dating from the mid 1900's. The totem features a winged Thunderbird, Raven and a bear at the base. Painted in traditional Kwakiutl colors of red, green and black the totem is carved in a very classic Kwakiutl Alert Bay style that has descended many generations and is reminiscent of the works done by Ellen Neel. The totem stands a respecatble 16" tall with a 10 1/2" wingspan, signed and dated " Carved at Alert Bay 1962" to the bottom. The totem makes a great display item and a fine addition to anyone's collection. Please add $12 for careful shipping and insurance (USA). Good Luck and Happy bidding. We'll be happy to combine shipping if feasible. Please check out other current offerings including a great Tlingit totem as well as a great early Tlingit and Haida bracelet Please email us for more specifics and links to our website.
