Authentic, Gaboon Ebony Wood, African Tribal Handcarved Statues Masai Warrior & Maiden, Tanzania, Africa Authentic, original, exotic gaboon ebony wood, handcarved tribal statues of a male Masai warrior and female Masai maiden from Tanzania, Africa. These statues, spear & shield are guaranteed to be of gaboon ebony wood found in Africa. This wood is considered the most pure of black wood and is very difficult to find and cost significantly higher! Statues were handcarved by local Tanzanian natives and were purchased by my husband on one of his hunting expeditions to Africa in 2003. Each statue measures approximately 30 1/2 inches in height. The male Masai warrior is holding a removable spear & shield. The female Masai maiden is holding one breast which represents "motherhood" and the other hand is covering her female anatomy which represents "womanhood". Both statues are in immaculate, mint condition!
