Description
the sale of this sword will go to help rescue a 4 acre property in philadelphia from develpoment. it is a cerimonial sword that belonged to a 94 year old women, she told me it was her husbands. i have no history on it and tried to look up info on the internet. the handle is what appears to be ivory with an etching in it,possably an emblem or an initial, there is a knights head at the top made of brass.there are several crusifixes on the sword and on the scabbard witch is metal ,also has a crusifix going through a crown on it and a knight holding a shield and a lance. when i looked up john f.young on the internet it stated that the tiffany&young company did make some swords. engraved on the top of the blade it says "John F. Young 2208 market st,philadelphia. the blade is engraved on both sides but is worn. a collector told me he had never seen anything like it and to take it to auction. i'll try ebay first. i am trying to raise funds to save a deceased friends property from development so the price is high on this item. it may be a one of a kind. i will take some close up photos and can send them upon request. i am located in northeast philadelphia and you are welcome to come see it in person. if you purchase this sword i will trow in everything the deceased woman gave me which includes a 1953 nash airflyte automobile that runs and drives nice,a 1927 antique atlas of the 35th ward in philadelphia and a antique filmco projector by bell and howell in working condition with spring driven action and seems to be from very early 1900s. bid away for a good cause to help us save this property from development. there is a high reserve. this auction is most likely going to be for a collector with a heart for a good cause and the means to bid very high. remember,we are trying to purchase and restore a 4 acre pasture area with a creek and an old stone home in need of a lot of work.shipping of the car is the responsibility of the buyer, other items i will ship . a deposit of $5000.00 due 24 hour at the end of auction and full patment within 7 days . i was told today that the sword may be a MASONIC SWORD
